Days 52 and 53

Wednesday Heather and I put the second coat of paint on the upstairs hallway but we didn't get the stairwell done.  In the afternoon I sanded all the woodwork around the window and doors to get it ready for the first coat of paint.  It started raining late in the afternoon and then it rained the rest of the day and most of the night.

Thursday morning I finally caught the small hare on video. Here she is.

Heather and I went into Rangiora shopping for food and a new pair of jeans for me since I spilled paint on my other ones.  After lunch we were both pretty tired so we decided to take the afternoon off.  For dinner we were picking up Mike and meeting his parents at one of their favorite places to eat, The Woolston Club.  We all had yummy dinners and the ice cream for dessert.  While we were driving home, there was the most beautiful sunset developing so I started taking pictures through the window of the car.  Here are some of them.

At some point last night or this morning, two of the little turkeys disappeared.  We're not sure what happened, but they are gone.  Mike decided to take another look around the property for them but when he returned, he was carrying a baby magpie that had fallen from its nest at the top of one of the pines.  So now it looks like a magpie will be added to the menagerie!  He/She is in a cage in the dining area of the house.

Here is Mike with his new little friend, who shortly after I took this picture, pooped on his sweater!

The Pictures of the sunset are STUNNING, especially the last one. You should enter THAT in a NatGeo contest when you get a chance... or have Cathy Sell it on her photo sight!

For now I've kyped a copy to make it by screen background. When you get a minute post it on the family site??

Sorry to hear the two lil turkeys have gone astray. Hope nothing has 'gotten' them, and they return when hungry... Glad Mike made a new friend. Hope he saved the poop to put with the worm poop in the garden!
