Day 47

No more little turkeys this morning.  It looks like four is the final number.  Sometimes, eggs just don't hatch.  But I did get a picture today of Bromley and three of her four little ones.

Heather and I had to go into Rangiora to buy some food for the baby turkeys and as we were getting ready to leave the plumber showed up to fix the leak in the shower drain and to finish plumbing the hot water cylinder to accept the solar heated water.  When we returned he was just leaving and we went inside to see that he had to cut holes in the kitchen ceiling to access the pipe that was leaking.  Apparently, his apprentice plumber had failed to seal one of the pipe connections and that's where the leak was.  All fixed now, but we still
have to deal with the holes.

The solar heating man was also at the house when we returned and he had completed the installation of the solar hot water system.  So I think we will have hot water in the house now, but we're going to let Mike check it out before we start using it.  Here is the solar collection frame on the roof of the house.

That's about all the excitement for today.  Heather and I are both a little sore from all the gardening yesterday!  Sometimes it's good to take the day off : )
