Day 25

This morning we (Heather did most of the work) managed to get the second coat of paint on the window and door trim in the master bedroom.  Painting in that room is done except for the inevitable touch-ups.  Then we headed outside to start planting all the seedlings and small plants we had purchased earlier this week.  We set up one "nursery" bed for some of the smaller plants and for some tulip bulbs Heather had on hand.  Here is our little "plant nursery".

And here are the rest of the plants that still need to be put in the ground.

Heather is very proud of her grape vine, which I think is the first plant they put in the ground after they moved into the Wee Mansion.  It grows up one of the posts of the decking in front of the mansion.  It is just starting to leaf out but I understand that within a couple of weeks it will take over the whole post.

I said before that it is hard to get a good picture of the orchard as the trees are still small.  So here are a few pictures of groupings of trees in the orchard as they begin to leaf out.

This is a grouping of three varieties of plums.

This is a peacharine - a cross between a peach and a nectarine.  There is also a nectarine just to the right of this tree, but it's not in the picture.

This the olive tree.  Heather has been nurturing this tree for about four years and this is where Mrs. Brown is buried.

So enough of plants and trees.  Would you like to meet our newest neighbors?

Yes, this is a small group of the flock of at least 100 sheep along with many lambs that have been moved into the pasture directly behind the Wee Mansion.  They tend to be quiet at night, but during the day it is hard to forget that they are there!!
