Mike has purchased a new laser.  He uses it for cutting and engraving jobs he does for clients, for demonstrations to potential buyers, as well as for making innovative and useful things around the house!  Mike is an authorized distributor for this company, Thunder Laser, so he can sell, install, train users, and perform maintenance on this brand of laser.  He has built a room in the workshop for the laser and the computer(s) needed to run it.  He spends a lot of time in his corner of that room!

Here is the laser engraving business cards for Mike's business.

And here is a close-up of the completed business card.  It looks a little fuzzy because I have enlarged it so much.

Heather is collecting 8-12 eggs a day from the chickens and egg cartons get used up pretty fast.  So Mike designed egg cartons to be cut on the laser, using scrap material.  Assembly is required and here is the end product.

We're making progress on the garden.  All but one raised bed are now ready for planting and we're in the process of laying out a new potato plot.  Along the fence on the left, Heather has cleared an area for the corn.  Hopefully, Mike will have some time today to cut some boards to size and we'll assemble and place two more raised beds.

It's sunny outside, so I'm off the spend some more time in the garden.

  2. Terri, I sent a note to Cathy. The Vashon folks will buy these to transport their eggs. EVERYONE there buys organic eggs on the side of the road.. these would be great to have for those who sell, (at about $5.00/dozen) and for those who buy them too!!! What does it cost him to make them??? I'm thinking we could import them and sell 'em for a good price at the farmers markets up there!
